In the UK home-schooling is gaining momentum and recognition amongst families, as children who home-school prove its success, both academically and socially. As a result, more parents in the UK are now taking on the duty of educating their own children; and are choosing home-schooling as a substitute to sending their child to school. Due to the consequences of Covid 19, the home-schooling interest has accelerated and it is estimated that over 150,000 children are now home-schooling throughout the UK.

There are different reasons for why parents choose to home-school their children. Some choose to home-school because they cannot get a place at the school of their choice or are frustrated by their local schools; others are seeking additional academic challenge for very intellectually, athletically or creatively gifted children; others have children with learning or physical needs that a busy classroom teacher cannot cater for; others have children who find the school environment too stressful for them to progress and to reach their potential; others choose to home-school for their philosophical or religious beliefs.

Overall, parents choose to home-school if it is in the best interests of their child.

Parents do not need to give any reason for selecting to home-school and the law does not make any distinction between reasons for deciding to home-school.

There are many assumptions and misconceptions surrounding home-schooling. The reality is that there is no set curriculum, nor prescribed hours, nor inspection to oversee families who home-school. There is a wealth of on-line teaching resources available to support home-schooling, but little provision for direct high-quality teaching. Many families end up teaching their own children or choose to use tutors.

We now have significant experience and success in delivering exceptional teachers to home-school children of all ages, abilities and needs. Our teachers are available to provide high quality home-schooling to support parents and children across all age groups: including Primary and Prep, Key Stage 1 and 2, SEN and Learning Support, 11+ Entrance Exams and Independent School Exams. Our teachers will provide online tuition for all academic subjects including: English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, History, Geography, Science, Computing and P.E.

Our teachers will help families by planning a complete programme of learning, teaching routine lessons each week, monitoring progress, advising parents on public examinations, and supporting and advising parents.

Home-schooling can offer a stimulating and positive approach to a child's learning. Success in home-schooling is found in the same way as success in school. The single most significant factor which defines the quality of education that a student receives is the quality of their teacher. It requires a teacher to have comprehensive knowledge of subject content and curriculum; it requires a teacher to have passion, energy, patience and flexibility; it requires a teacher to have advanced skills in handling young people; it requires a teacher to have a desire to make a real difference to the lives of others.
